One of the flagship businesses of the K.L. Dugar Group, Swastik Oil Industries Pvt. Ltd. began its journey in 1989. Swastik Oil is located in Biratnagar, southeast Nepal, and the factory is based on Swedish technology from Alfa Laval. Today, it is over two-decades old and considered the biggest company in the edible oil manufacturing sector of Nepal, with a manufacturing capacity of 450 tonnes per day (Soyabean Oil, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Sunflower Oil, and Palmolein Oil); and has a crushing capacity of 100 TPD of mustard seeds for production of double micro-filtered Mustard Seed Oil.

With more than one first-in-the-country, to its credit, it was the first plant in the country to introduce Cold De-waxing (Winterisation) technology to process crude sunflower oil in 2000. It is the first plant to receive the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification in the edible oil sector in Nepal. Swastik Oil was also the first in Nepal to introduce Vitamin A & D fortification in Soybean oil under the brand Swastik Health.

Swastik Oil was the first runner up for the Nepal Standards Quality Award 2007, and in 2009, Swastik Oil was honoured with the prestigious Nepal Standards Quality Award, for excellence in quality, safety and hygiene, by the Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology, Kathmandu.
